CRYSTAL & mineral SPHERES

picture jasper

This page contains some pictures and descriptions of beautiful polished crystal spheres and shows some examples of what we have in stock and can source. Many crystals and minerals can be cut and polished into beautiful spheres, and the quartz family all polish really well. Size and grade of material (and its rarity) tends to determine the price - bear in mind that the carver has to begin with a much larger piece of material in order to create a sphere. Off-cuts, if large enough, can be formed into other smaller shapes or turned into tumbled stones. If your space, garden and wallet are large enough it is possible to obtain spheres so large you cannot get your arms round them!

OCEAN JASPER:
This mineral comes from Madagascar, where it gained the name because it had to be mined from the shoreline at low tide. This material (especially the green and white shades) is becoming more scarce, as resources become mined out. It has a lovely soft energy, very Earth energy based, but also very watery and floaty. A 07012 has small amounts of beautiful white quartz druse; A 07013 has some amazingly deep green drusy cavities;  07016 has a fabulous "polar ice cap" of quartz!

PETRIFIED (FOSSILISED) WOOD:
Petrified wood is another Madagascan speciality. As well as some lovely slices and freeform pebbles that are full of colour (follow the links), I have some lovely spheres, all with very different colour combinations and markings. Pink and violet colours are especially prized by collectors. As you might expect these are very old and carry a great deal of Ancient Earth energy and knowledge, especially connected with the realm of gnomes, dryads and woodland devic beings.

CARNELIAN:
Once again Madagascar is the source of some beautiful deep carnelian material. This is a mineral that is basically a quartz chalcedony that has a very high iron content. Djwhal Kuhl said about carnelian in the 1980s that in his view it is one of the most rapidly advancing minerals on the planet - a quartz that thinks it is as good as a diamond! The energy is deep and resonant, empowering and energising. I have a few spheres as well as a range of freeform pebbles and boulders for sale (follow other links).

COPPER JASPER:
This is an unusual mineral, containing a mix of copper bearing jaspers, quartz and feldspar. A one-off item.

07026: Copper Jasper weighs 1.25kg and measures 3.5" in diameter - £60

ROSE QUARTZ:
I can never resist buying more rose quartz spheres, mostly because Madagascar has such a wonderful range of colours and transparency in this material. Asterated rose quartz (rose quartz that is finely rutilated) is quite common in Madagascar, and you can see the asterism best with the Sun or another direct light source reflecting on them. Everybody needs some rose quartz in their home!

LABRADORITE:
I always have labradorite for sale - freeforms, domes (follow links) and spheres. Both Madagascar and Brazil have good quality material. I find it welcomes being handles, and in fact the more you run your hands over it, the more the colour comes out. A stone of mystery and great depths - magical in many respects.

GRAPHIC FELDSPAR:
This is a relatively new find, being a sandy coloured jasper / feldspar, with veins of deep brown smoky quartz running through it. I have this material in a range of Freeform shapes (follow link) as well as spheres. To me it looks like the big cat family - leopards, cheetahs and tigers, with their spots and stripes. It has that sort of feel too - mysterious, camouflaged, moving in stealth towards ones aims. The larger spheres are particularly nice to hold, whilst the freeforms are very eye-catching.

Madagascar has a wide range of quartz - clear quartz, often with lots of veiling; smoky quartz in the full range of depths of colour, from the palest grey to the deepest brown; and many types of included quartz.
